Afghan question:Qatar.USA

The Taliban delegation held talks in Qatar with US representatives. A delegation led by the Foreign Minister of the Taliban movement that controls Afghanistan, Amir Khan Muttaqi, held talks with US representatives in Doha, said the deputy press secretary and assistant director of public relations of the Taliban Foreign Ministry Hafiz Zia Ahmad. During the negotiations, measures were discussed to end sanctions and blacklists, release Afghanistan's bank reserves and prevent violations of Afghan airspace. Ahmad said that also during this visit, the Taliban delegation held talks on bilateral relations with some Qatari government officials and foreign representatives based in Qatar. I would like to note that in May of this year, the Government of the “Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan” (IEA, the Taliban’s self-name for the country) turned to Qatar with a request to help improve relations with the international community. This was stated by IEA representative Zabihullah Mujahid following the visit of the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani to Kabul: “We asked Qatar to continue cooperation and take influential steps in diplomacy to dispel the fears and doubts that exist in some countries." However, some diplomats said that in fact the Qatari prime minister was delivering some important message to the Taliban leaders. “Qatar itself, as a pro-Taliban, sent its Prime Minister to tell the Taliban that Doha is still pro-Taliban, but their actions 'are affecting Qatar's reputation and position internationally. This was stated in a statement by the Qatari Foreign Ministry, in particular, the Qatari Prime Minister spoke with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, discussing bilateral relations and the situation in Afghanistan. A US State Department statement said Blinken thanked the prime minister for the partnership, reiterating his appreciation for Qatar's ongoing assistance in Afghanistan. “Qatar's role in Afghanistan has always been positive in political and economic aspects. He played an important role in the signing of the agreement, and now plays an important role in expanding interaction between the Islamic Emirate and the international community,” said Abdul Latif Nazari, Deputy Minister of Economy of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
