The IV Winter Youth Olympics has ended in
Gangwon Province, South Korea.
The national team of our country Kazakhstan represented a record number of athletes - 41, who took part in 9 disciplines in 5 sports.
“Kazakhstan, having won 1 gold, 2 bronze, achieved the best result in its history of performances at the Winter YOG, taking 20th place in the overall standings.
Young athletes of the Kazakhstan national team worthily defended the honor of the country. The reserve of the main Olympic team won 1 gold and 2 bronze medals in Gangwon and showed a historic result at the Youth Olympics. I sincerely congratulate our young athletes who have achieved such a wonderful result. Happy completion of the Olympics! I think that all our athletes received valuable experience that they will need in the future,” said Ermek Marzhikpayev.
