The Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan has created a special headquarters to coordinate large complex competitions. It included representatives of federations, the National Olympic Committee and the Sports Development Department under the Committee. The first important competitions are the Winter Youth Games.

“These competitions will be held like the Olympics. Since children aged 14-17 years old take part in them, cultural and other events are organized. The country has great potential for the development of winter sports,” said the head of the headquarters for preparations for the Olympic Games, Elsiyar Kanagatov, at a press conference in the Central Communications Center.
