Uzbekistan reduces VAT for exporters to zero
The Tax Committee of Uzbekistan announced a reduction in VAT (value added tax) on export and equivalent transactions to 0%. The Tax Committee reports on measures to support export activities in Uzbekistan. Export and similar transactions are subject to VAT at a rate of 0%. For persons carrying out exports and equivalent operations, VAT is reimbursed in an accelerated manner within 7 days. Sales of excisable goods for export (in the customs export procedure) are not subject to excise tax. Profit from the sale of goods (services) for export is subject to income tax at a rate of 0%. The exception is services provided to non-residents operating through permanent establishments. Temporary benefits provided until January 1, 2025: Taxpayers pay social tax at a rate of 1%. In addition, the Presidential Decree wrote off the amount of fines (as of June 1, 2023) applied to business entities for overdue receivables for foreign trade operations. These measures are aimed at expanding domestic production, further developing export activities, reducing costs when fulfilling tax obligations and creating additional jobs, the information says.
