Military exercises, live firing, training and practical exercises are aimed at improving the combat readiness and combat effectiveness of units, the army recruitment system and the development of territorial troops.

In total, 6 international exercises took place on the territory of Kazakhstan. At the same time, our military personnel took part in 24 exercises and competitions in other countries.

A high level of tactical and special training was demonstrated by Kazakh military personnel during the multinational combat exercise “Kysh-2023”, held in the Turkish province of Kars at the Akbala training ground. It was attended by military contingents from Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Turkey and Uzbekistan.

The joint tactical exercises “Khazri-2023”, held in Azerbaijan, involved the missile and artillery ships “Saryarka”, “Oral” and the hydrographic vessel “Zhaiyk”. The exercises in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea contributed to the mutual exchange of experience between military personnel of both countries.

Units of the army and military transport aviation, as well as specialists from the Parachute Training Center, participated from the Kazakh side in the tactical and special exercise “Kalkan-2023” at the Angren mountain range in Uzbekistan. The active phase of the exercise was observed by the Minister of Defense, Colonel General Ruslan Zhaksylykov.

In accordance with the plan of international military cooperation with military contingents of the CSTO member states, joint exercises “Interaction-2023” and special exercises “Search-2023” were held on the territory of Belarus.

With the participation of military pilots of both countries and military personnel of the Air Assault Forces of Kazakhstan, the joint Kazakh-Indian exercise “KazInd-2023” took place.

To implement the instructions of the President of the country Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to ensure interdepartmental coordination, establish operational and military-technical compatibility of security forces, tactical exercises with units of the Airborne Assault Forces and the Becket-2023 exercise were held at the training ground in the Zhetysu region.

The operational-tactical command and staff exercise “Shygys-2023” was held at the Shygys, Novo-Akhmirovo, Izendy and Spassk training grounds in the East Kazakhstan, Almaty and Karaganda regions. About 5 thousand military personnel and 1.5 thousand units of weapons and military equipment were involved in them.

The course of the strategic command and staff exercises “Batyl Toytarys-2023”, held at the “Bereg” training ground, was observed by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. At the same time, in the Caspian Sea, the Naval Forces, with the support of aviation and Special Operations Forces, ensured the security of important facilities. Joint combat training missions were also carried out at training grounds in Almaty, Karaganda, North Kazakhstan and Abay regions.

As part of the mobilization training activities, exercises were held with military units of the RGC "South" and the Department of Defense of the Zhambyl region, command and staff mobilization exercises with the management of the territorial defense brigades of the Pavlodar, Mangistau regions and the city of Almaty.

In general, the Armed Forces conducted about a thousand combat training events, more than 16 thousand classes in driving combat vehicles and over 40 thousand combat shooting exercises. All of them were aimed at increasing the field training of personnel and combat coordination of units.
