The Emir of Qatar called on the UN Security Council to return Israel to the negotiating table on a settlement in Gaza
Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani also called it a shame that the international community does not prevent the actions of the Israeli side
The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, called on the UN Security Council to force Israel to return to the negotiating table to resolve the situation in the Gaza Strip.
“We call on the Security Council to fulfill its obligations, end the barbaric war and force Israel to return to negotiations,” the emir said at the opening of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) summit in Doha.
He also called it a disgrace that the international community does not stop Israel, which continues to "systematically and deliberately kill innocent civilians, including women and children."
The two-day 44th GCC summit began in the capital of Qatar on Tuesday. In addition to the leaders of the Gulf countries, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has been invited to the summit.
