As part of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, joint events in the fields of sports and tourism will be held in 2024.
In Oktober 2023, the Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Ermek Marzhikpayev held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Faisal Hanef H. Alqahtani. Issues of cooperation in the field of tourism and sports were discussed. The Minister of Kazakhstan proposed organizing a press tour for representatives of the media and tourism companies in Saudi Arabia. In his opinion, this would allow citizens of KSA to see with their own eyes the picturesque landscapes of Kazakhstan and this would give new impetus to the development of cooperation between both countries in the field of tourism. Also, the Minister of Kazakhstan noted the successful organization by Saudi Arabia of the “Universe of Nomads” ethnofestival in 2019 and invited representatives of KSA to take part in the V World Nomad Games, which will be held in September 2024 in Kazakhstan.
