Kazakhstan complies with Western sanctions against the Russian Federation, said Arman Shakkaliev

Shakkaliyev

Arman Shakkaliev, the Minister of Commerce and Congress of Kazakhstan, said that over the past six months, not a single company has been identified in Kazakhstan that would violate the sanctions regime imposed by Russia's Western changes against: "Mr. O'Sullivan was the level of organization of work, obligations with the implementation our international obligations. on export control. I can say that today Kazakhstan fulfills its obligations in good faith.”

“There was trade turnover, we don’t hide it. But on the part of our Western partners and integration associations, the lists are being adjusted. Therefore, our lists of products subject to export control are also being adjusted. After they appear on the list of sanctioned goods, administration takes place,” he added, emphasizing that now the goods control system is built in such a way that the country does not violate its obligations.

In November, EU special envoy for sanctions David O'Sullivan thanked Kazakhstan for its assistance in reducing re-exports of a number of goods to Russia, adding that there had been an increase in re-exports of "certain other goods". Their total volume occupies a relatively small share of Kazakhstan’s trade turnover and amounts to only 200 million euros per year, he said at a press briefing in Astana, noting that it is not a matter of volume, but “the value and lethal effect of these products.”

David O'Sullivan, the EU's special envoy for sanctions, visited Astana on a working visit last November and expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation with Kazakhstan.
