Agrofirma TNK and Bonifiche Ferraresi signed a memorandum of cooperation
Kazakhstan strengthens its partnership with the leading Italian agricultural holding Bonifiche Ferraresi
As part of the official visit of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the Italian Republic, a meeting was held between the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aidarbek Saparov and the General Director of the Bonifiche Ferraresi agricultural holding Federico Vecchioni.
Based on the results of preliminary negotiations, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the AgrofirmaTNK group of companies and BF International Best Fields Best Food Limited, a subsidiary of the Bonifiche Ferraresi holding.
The Kazakh company produces agricultural products on 400 thousand hectares of land in the Akmola region and is known to Kazakhstanis under the Zhaksy trademark, under which flour, cereals, fermented milk and other products are produced.
The Italian holding is engaged in the cultivation and marketing of agricultural products. Bonifiche Ferraresi approved a strategy for expanding and developing its activities in international territories, which resulted in the signing of a memorandum with Agrofirm TNK.
At the first stage of the partnership, the companies intend to exchange experience in the field of technology, seeds, employee training, and at the next stage the development of processing, incl. pasta production.
Currently, the production of pasta in Kazakhstan is represented by 40 enterprises, the largest of which use durum wheat flour as a raw material, which is characterized by a high content of protein and iron. Traditional Italian pasta is made from this flour.
“Kazakhstan has every opportunity to increase pasta production and exports, since it has its own raw material base. In 2022, Kazakhstan produced 15.6 million tons of soft wheat and 833 thousand tons of durum wheat, of which about 400 thousand tons are exported to Italy alone, which is enough to increase the volume of pasta production, including for the purpose of expanding exports,” - explained Aidarbek Saparov.
During the negotiations, the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan noted the favorable investment climate in Kazakhstan for Italian partners. In particular, investors can directly enter into an investment agreement with the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the implementation of large investment projects. Industry benefits and preferences are provided for the implementation of such projects.
