Afghanistan and Iran signed 5 economic cooperation agreements

Iran and Afghanistan signed 5 economic cooperation agreements

Iran and Afghanistan have concluded five agreements to expand bilateral economic cooperation. This was reported on Friday by the official Iranian news agency IRNA.

The documents provide for cooperation in such areas as transport, civil aviation, mining, free trade zones, as well as joint activities with the Iranian company Esfahan Steel Company.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Iranian Presidential Special Representative for Afghanistan Hassan Kazemi Qumi noted that expanding bilateral economic cooperation will contribute to strengthening the stability and security of Afghanistan, and will also help alleviate the country's problems.

Afghanistan's Acting Trade and Industry Minister Nuruddin Azizi, for his part, said his government aims to increase annual trade with Iran to US$10 billion,  Iran has advanced technological capabilities.
